At first, each new contributor should go through the onboarding process with Channing, Pablo, or Dario as they are most familiar with AID. As additional members get more experienced, they can perform onboarding duties as well.

• Warm intros for people when they join the discord
  • using membership directory, make sure relevant people introduce themselves to that new person / that new person reaches out to them

In order to scale our operations, we’re onboarding a select number of highly qualified individuals.

Our onboarding process is as follows:

• Join the discord

• New member should post their introduction in #introduce-yourself, ideally before the onboarding meeting

• 30-60 minute 1-1 intro call to discuss:

  • Each other’s motivations

  • Why you want to help AID

  • What your personal goals are

  • Time commitment

  • What AID needs (figure out which projects match your personal goals)

  • Next steps

  • Onboarder should take notes in

    Meeting notes

• Get to know the team

  • Join one of our standups on M/W/F to introduce yourself to everyone in #team-internal
  • Meet each member for short amount of time with the team (#team-internal)
    • Discuss your goals and what we’re working on
    • Look for things in common and ways to help each other!

• Start contributing!

  • Ask an interesting question in #general to start a discussion
  • Make an edit to the wiki
